JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Cafe Manager -
We’re an established independent cafe in Nunhead, South East London, proud to have been part of the community for the past seven years. Known for quality coffee and a relaxed but considered vibe, we’re now looking for a motivated Cafe Manager to join our team in June and help take the business to the next level.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy environment, leads by example, and has a genuine passion for coffee, people, and creating a welcoming space.
About us:
We’re more than just a coffee shop - we’ve built a loyal customer base over the years and have created a space that reflects our passions; excellent coffee, good music, and a warm, unpretentious atmosphere. We believe in attention to detail, consistency, and creating an environment where both staff and customers feel looked after.
What you’ll be doing:
Overseeing the daily running of the cafe, ensuring high standards in service, quality and cleanliness.
Leading and supporting a small front-of-house team - training, motivating, and creating a positive working environment.
Managing rotas, stock levels, supplier relations and ordering.
Monitoring sales, productivity and costs - identifying areas to improve efficiency and boost turnover.
Working closely with the owner to implement new ideas and drive the business forward.
Being present and hands-on; this is a role that requires energy, commitment and a great attitude.
Who we’re looking for:
Previous experience in a cafe or hospitality management (ideally in an independent setting) is essential.
A strong understanding of specialty coffee and a genuine interest in cafe culture.
Excellent communication and people skills - both customer-facing and with your team.
Good grasp of business operations - from managing costs and rotas to improving service systems.
Reliable, proactive and organised, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Someone who cares about creating a great vibe - music, atmosphere and customer experience matter greatly to us.
What we offer:
32 -36 hours a week over four set days (Thursday - Sunday), with competitive pay (based on experience)
The chance to be part of a well loved local business with room to grow as we expand.
Autonomy and input in how the cafe runs day to day.
A positive working environment and a supportive owner.
Pension.
Staff discounts, free lunch and excellent coffee every day.
If you’re a capable, coffee loving manager looking for a new challenge in a place with personality, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you’d be a good fit to hello@goodcuplondon.com
Please submit any applications by may 15th
Chef Position (Part-Time)
We’re on the lookout for a Weekend Brunch Chef to take charge, design the menu from scratch, and lead the kitchen Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. Early start, early finish. Coffee’s flowing. Tunes on. People hungry.
So, what’s the deal?
You’ll be the main person in the kitchen, designing and delivering a brunch menu that’s got heart, soul, and a little flair. Think elevated classics, seasonal twists — we’re open to your vision.
You won’t be alone forever — we’ll get you support staff if you need them. But you’ll definitely be leading the charge.
The Job:
Build and run our new weekend brunch service
Develop a cracking menu that’s creative, crowd-pleasing and cost-savvy
Own the kitchen vibe – clean, calm, consistent
Keep things delicious and safe (yes to food hygiene, no to chaos)
Work closely with the manager to bring it all together
Friday to Sunday shifts, last service at 2pm — no evenings!
You might be our person if:
You’ve got brunch game (and a couple years’ experience to back it up)
You’re confident running a small kitchen solo
You’ve got Food Hygiene Level 2
You care about flavour, consistency, and plating like a pro
You’ve got ideas — and the skills to bring them to life
You’re chill under pressure
What we’re offering:
Competitive pay (tell us what you’re bringing to the table)
Free lunch + all the coffee you can handle
Creative freedom with real input on the menu
A supportive team and a chilled, independent café setting
No evening shifts — go live your life
Let’s talk.
Send us a little something about yourself — your vibe, your vision, your brunch philosophy. CVs are a must. Menu ideas or links to your food? Even better.
We’re aiming for a mid-June start.
